Wild reactions have since trailed the All Progressive Congress (APC) since they pegged the presidential form of their party at N100 million and gubernatorial at N50 million. Nigerians have vehemently condemned the move, noting that the high cost of the form would hinder sincere people to compete. Opinion poll suggests that only thieving politicians have such cash to burn.
The party would commence the sales of the forms to aspirants in the forthcoming 2023 general election on Saturday. The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka, who announced the decision, said that the APC’s Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for 2023 presidential and governorship aspirants would be sold at N100 million and N50 million respectively.
An APC apologist, Zara Onyinye has taken a swipe at those who think the price of the form is too much. She has this to say: "Those who raised 200m within 24hr for Davido and raised 50m to buy benz for Tacha of BBN are complaining over 100m APC form."
"They have 3billion naira to sponsor Endsars protest but they don't have 50million naira to buy form to contest election, some Nigerians youths are jokers."
