Another tragedy as flood claims lives of two teenagers in Bayelsa

The rising flood waters, yesterday evening, reportedly claimed the lives of two teenage girls in Bayelsa state.
The girls, Ebi and Favour, according to report were on an errand when their canoe capsized.

The incident which happened in Akenfa, a suburb in Yenagoa, is one of many deaths caused by the flood.

They were said to have been swept away by the high current of the water when their canoe capsized and drowned.

This sad incident has caused fresh panic in the state as the water doesn't seem to be abating, causing untold hardship to the residents.

The State Governor, Sen. Douye Diri has announced a one week flood break for civil servants in the state to grapple with the challenges.
