#2022Flood: dead bodies float from Bayelsa cemetery

Cemetery attendants of the Gloryland Cemetery in Azikoro, Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital, have cried out for help as the buried corpse from cemetery are floating as the result of the flood.

The Chief Cemetary attendant, Mr Priye Obulori and his colleague, said so far three buried corpses have been re-buried, describing the situation as unbearable.

They however, called the Bayelsa State Government to come to their aid.

Meanwhile, residents of the Aeroplane Road, later blocked the Oxbow Lake/Swali in protest against the floating of corpses at Bayelsa Gloryland Cemetery in Azikoro in Yenagoa, demanding for the presence of the State Government in the area.

Some of the protesters who spoke to our Correspondent Dienita Jackson Daniel, said the floating of the dead bodies from the Cemetary has polluted the area.

They also noted that both the chemical and decomposed corpse posed a health threat to residents, calling on the Government to come to their aid.
